Addressing Digital Inequities in a Catholic School Community by Kevin Fell, OCT, 4 June, 2025

Reflection:

Setting Directions

I actively foster a shared vision in my classroom and school, anchoring my work in the TCDSB’s Pastoral Plan, “In God’s Image: Growing in Knowledge, with Justice and Hope.” I co-create classroom expectations with my students, displaying them as anchor charts, and lead initiatives like Operation Kindness to model a Christ-centered vision that champions equity and inclusion. By serving on the School Improvement and Equity Plan (SIEP) committee and mentoring new teachers, I align goals with school improvement plans. Moving forward, I aspire to broaden my impact at the system level by joining curriculum writing teams and union leadership roles, strengthening my ability to communicate and promote the board’s Catholic vision to the wider community.

Connected Leader

I believe in providing a Catholic school environment that is a living example of our Gospel values, is safe, inclusive and conducive to staff and students enjoyment and well-being, faith development and academic advancement.

In faith I strive to apply my skills and talents towards building capacity among youth, educators and the general public in order to positively affect world issues.  I believe that nuanced individuals need the opportunity to thrive in an inclusive-community where they feel safe to express themselves and make mistakes.  A challenging program that is rooted in current best practices will reach every student. – Kevin Fell, O.C.T
