Reflection:

Developing the Organization to Support Desired Practices

I foster a collaborative culture by implementing strategies from Peter Liljedahl’s book, Building Thinking Classrooms, and encouraging peer mentoring in my classroom. Leading extracurricular activities like the drum club and talent shows, I promote student engagement and Catholic values. At the school level, I participate in professional learning communities, sharing resources and mentoring new teachers. To advance my growth, I aim to strengthen system-level connections by engaging in Catholic learning networks and sustaining mentoring relationships with system leaders, ensuring organizational structures align with the school’s vision and goals.

Connected Leader

I believe in providing a Catholic school environment that is a living example of our Gospel values, is safe, inclusive and conducive to staff and students enjoyment and well-being, faith development and academic advancement.

In faith I strive to apply my skills and talents towards building capacity among youth, educators and the general public in order to positively affect world issues.  I believe that nuanced individuals need the opportunity to thrive in an inclusive-community where they feel safe to express themselves and make mistakes.  A challenging program that is rooted in current best practices will reach every student. – Kevin Fell, O.C.T
