Performance and style-driven, both of these deadly new offerings from Costa are excellent on their own and even better when paired together.<\/p>\n<p>Costa has been busy. Just when I thought the brand couldn\u2019t outdo itself after the recent release of the 40th Anniversary <a href=\"https:\/\/gearjunkie.com\/outdoor\/hunt-fish\/costa-del-mar-new-king-tide-frames-review\">King Tide<\/a> frames, <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com?id=66154X1501138&amp;xs=1&amp;xcust=gjprapparel&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.costadelmar.com%2Fen-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Costa Del Mar<\/a> decided to go all out and bring back the retro <a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com?id=66154X1501138&amp;xs=1&amp;xcust=gjprapparel&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.costadelmar.com%2Fen-us%2Fsunglasses%2F6S9117-97963980272\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Grand Catalina frames<\/a>. These iconic shades haven&#8217;t been produced since the 1980s. <\/p>\n<p>Not only has the brand resurrected a legendary frame style worn by the likes of renowned anglers Flip Pallot and Jose Wejebe, but they\u2019ve also engineered a highly innovative new lens option that pushes versatility further than I thought possible. After a few weeks of testing a pair of Grand Cats outfitted with the gold-mirrored lens, I\u2019ve got loads of praise for the combo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In short: <\/strong>Costa Del Mar continues to do what it does best, bringing high-caliber fishing sunglasses to anglers. Easily detached and popped back onto the frames in seconds, I cannot stress how game-changing these side shields can be for certain angling scenarios.<\/p>\n<p>Dramatically boosting the amount of blocked backside and peripheral light that enters your field of view, these side shields keep your eyes on the prize without cramping your style or comfort. While this is a beautiful feature for all angling contexts, sight fishermen, in particular, will find the side shields are far from a marketing gimmick and will instantly sense the viewing advantage.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019ve ever cupped your hands around your eyes while trying to spot tails, structure, or pushing fish, then you\u2019ll see what the hype is about right away here.
